Located in beautiful Prince Edward Island, the Dr. Tim Ogilvie AVC Vet Camp (a.k.a. AVC Vet Camp) offers a behind-the-scenes experience of the world of veterinary medicine. From exotics to surgeries, be prepared to be amazed. It’s so much fun you may not even realize you’re learning! AVC Vet Camp features one-week camps for students entering grades 7,8, and 9 in the fall of 2016 and for students entering grades 10, 11, and 12 in the fall of 2016. The John Helou Scholarship will award up to two exceptional Canadian youth with the financial support they need to overcome the financial obstacles that come with a personal or familial diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. The recipients must be enrolled in a science,
technology, engineering or math undergraduate program and will receive $6,250/year for four years to apply to tuition– for a total scholarship of $25,000.
Eligible applicants must:
>be a Canadian citizen;
>have at least an 85% (or equivalent)
>be planning on enrolling full time in a Canadian, American or Foreign university,
specifically in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) program; *
>be high school seniors or graduates who have MS or who have an immediate family member with MS
>demonstrate leadership and/or community participation through two reference letters from a non-family member (min. one academic);
>include a written submission (max. 800 words) on the relationship of MS in the
student’s life and how their course of study will guide them on a path that will impact
people living with MS;

Deadline for Scholarships at most universities is quickly approaching ( March 1 ). Please have your application for admission completed by this date if you would like to be considered for entrance scholarships.
Holland College entrance scholarships deadline is May 15, 2016.
When asking teachers or community members for reference letters, please give at least two weeks notice.
We would ask all Grade 12 students who need a first semester transcript sent to one or more universities, to please visit Student Services. Transcripts will be ready by the end of the week.
On Tuesday, February 9th, between 10:30 – 11:30 , the Trade & Technology Expo will be at Souris Regional. There will be between 8-10 program/industry areas on display, students are encouraged to come out to this event and ask plenty of questions!
