The Eastern Kings Sports Council is looking for high schools interested in volunteering for Canskate – a program aimed at teaching kids the fundamentals of skating. The program starts Wednesday, Nov 18th for 12 weeks. Students must be able to skate well, br reliable, responsible, patient, and punctual. This program can be used for bursary hours or Leadership hours! Students can get a minimum of 24 hours in total!

Come to Student Services for more information or contact Colleen MacGregor. The EKSP would like to have these students in place by Wed, Nov 4th!

College and University Visits

The following institutions will be visiting Souris Regional to chat with students one one one, answer questions, and in some cases conduct “on the spot” admissions. Students are asked to sign up for these events in advance so that teachers are aware of missed class time. Sign up sheets are located at the Student Services Bulletin Board.

St Thomas University – Monday, November 9th @ 1:30 pm

St FX University – Monday November 16th @ 11:30 am

Dalhousie University – Friday, November 27th @ 9:45 am

Acadia University – Wednesday, December 2nd @ 1:45

Canadian Coast Guard College, Friday November 20th, 2015 – 10:00 and 3:00 at
1190 Westmount Road, Sydney Nova Scotia. Confirm your attendance as soon as possible at CCGCregistrar@dfo-mpo.gc.ca along with the approximate number of attendees and time of arrival.

The tour will begin in the gymnasium where there will be a Recruitment Kiosk for the CGC Officer Training Program. Special highlights of the Open House will be the Navigation and Engine Room Simulators, MCTS Traffic Simulator, Machine Shop and MCTS Sydney Radio Station

Remember!

St FX will be at SRS on Monday, October 26th during lunch followed by some -on–the-spot admissions with student interested in applying. Early fall admissions opens on October 15 for all program except nursing. Students can still apply for nursing, but they just will not be evaluated until after March 1, 2016. Student should sign up on the Student Services bulletin board located outside Student Services so that transcripts can be made available by School Counsellors!
